Ensuring Safe and Fun Play for All

Community Pickleball
Court Rules

Court Usage Priority

  • Doubles play takes priority over singles when courts are in high demand.

  • If four (4) or more players are waiting, they may request that a singles game finish its current game so doubles play can rotate onto the court.

Game Format

  • All games are played to 11 points, win by 2.

  • During busy times, games should be played as doubles to allow maximum participation.

Waiting & Rotation Rules

  • Players waiting to play should form groups of four (4) and use the paddle rack system to indicate their position in line.

  • When four (4) or more players are waiting:

    • After each game, all players rotate off the court.

    • The next group of four (4) from the paddle rack rotates on.

  • When fewer than four (4) players are waiting:

    • The winning team stays on the court and splits partners for the next game. The losing team rotates off, and the next two waiting players rotate in.

    • Winning players must exit the court after two consecutive wins.

Singles Play

  • Singles play is allowed only when less than four (4) players are waiting, or with the consent of those waiting.

  • If a singles game is in progress and four (4) or more players begin waiting, the players must finish their current game and then allow doubles play to rotate onto the court.

Courtesy & Safety

  • Always wait for a rally to end before walking behind or across an active court.

  • In pickleball, for safety reasons and to prevent injuries, any player can yell “BALL ON” the instant a ball from another game rolls onto your court while your point is in progress, OR if your ball rolls onto an adjacent court while play is occurring. This is to alert players to stop immediately, and results in a replay of the point.

  • Close the gate when entering or exiting the court area.

  • Please place pickleball bags along the outside fence and keep them off and away from the courts to prevent tripping hazards and interference with play.

  • Practice good sportsmanship and communicate clearly and respectfully with fellow players.

Let’s work together to keep courts enjoyable and fair for everyone.

Thank you for your cooperation!
